"Making A Difference In The Lives Of Others"

History of CCADA

Concerned Citizens on Alcohol and Drug Abuse is a non-profit city-wide, community based organization, founded and incorporated by Mr. Samuel Foster and Mrs. Nona Foster on  November 21, 1979.   Both shared a vision and commitment of assisting people with alcohol and drug problems of southeast  Washington,DC.

Mr. and Mrs. Foster's primary mission for CCADA is to help control the epidemic of substance abuse that has resulted in the moral deterioration of communities, families, and individuals with thier unique five point system;

1) Problem Identification.
2) Education.
3) Understanding the mental and physical damages it causes.
4) Preventaive Measures.
5) Coping with stress and pressures of daily life through participation in group counseling sessions.

This five point system the CCADA has developed and perfected over the years has brought about a tremendous positive change in the lives of many who have suffered from the debilitating effects of alcohol and drug abuse in the Anacostia region of our nations capital by offering them the support, knowledge and encouragement needed to regain thier confidence to return to the community as productive citizens.
